Durban, South Africa – VGAN Chocolate is excited to announce our continued partnership with the Velosolutions UCI Pump Track World Championships, taking place this year in the dynamic and culturally rich township of KwaMashu, Durban, on November 9, 2024.
Following a successful collaboration in Austria last year, VGAN CHOCOLATE is set to bring smiles, also known as chocolate to the pump track once again.

A GLOBAL PHENOMENA
The Pump Track World Championships has become global phenomena since its inception – seeing local heroes, elite BMX racers, and MTB World Champions compete on an even playing field. From its first World Final in 2018 in Arkansas, USA, to handing out the iconic rainbow stripes for the first time in 2019 in Switzerland, the event has grown in stature and influence.
Most recently, in 2023, the USA’s Alec Bob and Switzerland’s Christa von Niederhäusern clinched titles, with Christa making history with her third championship win.
KWAMASHU – AN UNFORGETTABLE BACKDROP
KwaMashu is renowned not only for its vibrant community and rich cultural heritage but also as a symbol of resilience and unity. The township provides an unforgettable backdrop to the championships, where the world’s top riders from this year’s qualifiers will compete for the ultimate title in pump track racing.
A POSITIVE IMPACT
This year's event also highlights the important work of initiatives such as Pump for Peace and the Go Durban Cycle Academy. These organizations strive to promote cycling in underprivileged communities, fostering a love for the sport and encouraging social cohesion by providing safe, accessible spaces for local youth to rip on their bikes.

"Our aim is to make cycling accessible to underprivileged communities through our non-profit, Pump for Peace. We have hosted qualifiers on Pump for Peace tracks over the years, and now, for the first time, we are excited to hold the Finals on one of these tracks. Velosolutions, Pump for Peace, and Go!Durban will expand to other Pump for Peace tracks across various townships in Durban for a local Township Series. Additionally, we are organizing transportation for all qualified riders from Lesotho to ensure their participation in the largest race of 2024!”
