Spring is the best part of winter
As the snow still blankets the mountains of Norway easter is approaching. Easter here is not just about egg hunts and bunnies; it's a celebration deeply intertwined with the beauty of nature and age-old traditions.

Easter in Norway is a time for 'påskeferie' (Easter vacation), where families and friends pack their 'påskekos' (Easter coziness) essentials and head up to cozy cabins in the mountains. When winter is warm and sunny enough for an outdoor Aperol Spritz, thats "påskekos" for the Norwegians.

FJOLS TIL FJELLS

The crisp mountain air is filled with the laughter of children and adults alike, engaging in easter skiing, a beloved tradition that combines the joy of skiing with the warmth of the early spring season's spirit.

Easter is also the time when many Norwegian families – that don´t really ski much the rest of winter – goes to the mountains. Often a beautiful adventure, but sometimes the inspiration for crime thrillers, and mystery novels known as "Påskekrim".

But easter is not all about nordic noir thrillers and cross country skiing; it's mostly about coming together, sharing stories, and indulging in 'påskeegg' (Easter eggs) filled with sweets and chocolates – in combination with oranges, these become the official snack of norwegians at easter.

The long days are welcomed, allowing for more time to enjoy the outdoors. After a long day outside, many Norwegians will cozy up with a couple of warming cocktails in front of the fireplace, or a chilled glass of Solo – the traditional Norwegian orange soda.

Norwegians cherish their snowy Easter
The blending of Christian traditions with these unique Norwegian customs creates a memorable celebration. Brightly colored 'påskepynt' (Easter decorations) of chicks and eggs adorn homes and cabins, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Easter in Norway is a testament to the country's love for nature, the outdoors, and the importance of spending quality time with loved ones. So, while the rest of the world welcomes spring, Norwegians cherish their snowy Easter, making memories in the mountains that last a lifetime.
